COMMENTS ON RITUAL OF THE PYRAMID
LIBER DCLXXI vel PYRAMIDOS

The Building of the Pyramid[1].

 

The Magus with Wand. On the Altar are Incense, Fire, Bread, Wine, the Chain, the Scourge, the Dagger and the Oil. In his Left Hand the Bell he taketh:

Hail! Asi! Hail, Hoor-Apep! Let
The Silence speech beget!

Two Strokes on Bell. Banishing Spiral Dance:

The Words against the Son of Night
Tahuti speaketh in the Light[2].
Knowledge and Power, twin warriors[3], shake
The Invisible; They roll asunder
The Darkness; Matter shines[4], a snake[5].
Sebek is smitten by the thunder.
The Light breaks forth from under.

He goes to the West, in the Centre of the Base of the Triangle of Θωθ (מ), Asi (א), and Hoor (ש):

O Thou, the Apex of the Plane,
With Ibis Head and Phoenix Wand
And Wings of Night[6]! Whose serpents strain
Their bodies, bounding the Beyond.
Thou in the Light and in the Night
Art One, above their moving might[7]!

 

He lays the Wand, etc., on the altar, uses the Scourge on his buttocks, cuts a cross with the Dagger upon his Breast and tightens the Chain of the Bell about his forehead, saying:

The Lustral Water[8]! Smite thy flood
Through me lymph, marrow and blood!

 

Anointing the Wounds, say:

The Fire Informing! Let the Oil
Balance, assain, assoil[9]!

 

The Invoking Spiral Dance[10]:

So Life takes Fire from Death, and runs
whirling amid the Suns.
Hail, Asi! Pace the Path, bind on
the girdle of the Starry One[11]!

 

Sign of the Enterer.

Homage to Thee, Lord of the Word!

Lord of the Silence, Homage to Thee!

Hail Asi! Hail, Thou Wanded Wheel[14]!
Alpha and Delta kissed and came
For Five[15] that feed the Flame.

 

Bell.

Hail, Hoor-Apep[16]! Thou Sword of Steel!
Alpha and Delta and Epsilon
Met in the Shadow of the Pylon[17]
And in Iota[18] did proclaim
That tenfold core and crown of flame.
Hail, Hoor-Apep! Unspoken Name!

 

Thus is the Great Pyramid duly builded[19].

  

Initiation[20]

 The First Pylon

I know not who I am;

The Candidate still, bound and hoodwinked:

Asar Un-nefer[23]! I invoke
The Fourfold Horror of the Smoke.
Unloose the Pit! by the dread Word
of Power that Set-Typhon hath heard.

(Pronounce this backwards. But it is very dangerous. It opens the Gates of Hell.)

 

The Fear of Darkness and of Death.
The Fear of Water and of Fire
The Fear of the Chasm and the Chain
The Fear of Hell and the dead Breath[25].
The Fear of Him, the Demon dire[26]
That on the Threshold of the Inane
Stands with His Dragon Fear to slay
The Pilgrim of the Way.
Thus I pass by with force and care,
Advance with Fortitude and Wit[27],
In the straight Path, or else their snare
Were surely Infinite.

 

The Passing of the Second Pylon
(Stagger and fall back to earth. Suit action to words.)

This Pylon of the Hall of Maat.

The Shroud is figured in my Thought[57],
The Inmost Light is on my head[58].

 

Unbind. Sign of Enterer[59].

Attack! I eat up the strong Lions. I!
Fear is on Seb, on Them[60] that dwell therein,
Behold the radiant Vigour of the Lord!

 

Sign of Silence[61].

Defence! I close the mouth of Sebek[62], ply
My fear on Nile, Asar that held not in!
Behold my radiant peace, ye Things abhorred.
For see! The Gods have loosed mine hands:
Asar unfettered stands[63].
Hail, Asi, hail! Hoor-Apep cries[64].
Now I the Son of Man arise
And follow[65], dead where Asar lies!

 

Lie down in Sign of Hanged Man:

I gild my Left Foot with the Light[66].
I gild my Phallus with the Light.

Waiting Thy glory in the shrine,
Thy bride, thy virgin, ah my Lord!
Smite through the spirit with thy sword

 Asar Un-nefer[68]! rise in me[69]
The chosen catamite of thee
Come! O come now! I wait, I wait
Patient-impatient, slave of Fate
Bought by thy glance. Come now, come now
Touch and inform this burning brow.
Asar Un-nefer! in the shrine
Make Thou me wholly Thine.

 

Remove Hoodwink[70].

I am Asar, worthy alone
To sit upon the Double Throne.
Attack is mine, and mine defence[71]:
And these are one[72]. Let us go hence!
For I am master of my Fate[73],
Wholly initiate.

[9] The fire here is Prana, life energy, while Oil is . Temptation, purification, and consecration are aspects of Initiation

[10] Solar motion.

[11] After 🜄 follows 🜂.

[12] The Secret Word refers to a specific vibratory process that takes place through the Initiation, to a unique aspect of the Initiation, to a specific compression of the Initiation influence into one single vibration. This Word is a secret known by the Initiates of the Order of the A∴A∴, as well as some Zelators from the Order of Thelemites.

[13] Hua-Ho is the vibration of Kether, IAO is the vibration of Tiphareth; these vibrations absorb and harmonize the effect of the Secret Word.

[14] Asi is 🜄, the wand is 🜂, the wheel is their external manifested union.

[15] The five is the Pentagram; the Spirit without life energy could not carry the life of the elements.

[16] APeP is 161 as well as “Alion”/Elion – “The Highest.”

[17] ADI is אדני, Holy Guardian Angel. Shadow of the Pylon is what is underneath the path of ס.

[18] Iota is Hebrew י and the Grade of Hermit. It is the root, the seed. ADI is, therefore, the Grades of the Man of Earth, the Lover, and the Hermit. They receive their Words; the Man of Earth receive the word of the Neophyte, the Lover the name of the Angel, while the Hermit is given the word of the whole Æon. ADI is also the IAD, the Enochian Supreme Emanation.

[19] Elements are established and dedicated unto the Highest.

[20] The process of spiritual testing, purification, consecration and awakening are being followed.

[21] This is Asar as a human being, a traveler on the Path, a seeker. These are the characteristics of non-consecrated, non-initiated one.

[22] However, the ear, organ of  Spirit, is hearing the Call.

[23] Asar-Un-Nepher is the Self-Consecrated conscious Initiate, the Higher Self that gives the certainty on Initiation.

[24] The vibration that opens the portals of the unconscious so the man can fully confront his attributes and elements.

[25] Four fears which of eight. Also, the royal eight-fold path, Raja Yoga.

[26] A dire demon is the fifth fear, which is the ignorance of the Spirit.

[27] Being strong, cautious, progressing steadily and resourcefully, are the characteristics of the usage of the elements. “In the straight Path” is the reference for Spirit.

[28] These are three Great Questions relating to the Three Initiations. The throat is Daath. Below is the Malkuth, in which the Neophyte is. The heart is from Adept’s Tiphareth. “I” is not worth to pass that Initiation.

[33] Identification with the dead body does not bring progress. However, there is a certain Consciousness, the Soul that urges to seek through Will.

[34] “Heart of me” is Tiphareth, and “heart of my mother” is Binah. “Heart that I had upon the earth” is Malkuth. This is the connection of Tiphareth with each Sephiroth, referring to the Three Great Initiations (see Liber TAU).

[35] Hall of MAAT, the Truth. The truth is even in the most disgusting places, in the depths of the subconscious with which the seeker must confront along the Way.

[36] Again, the snake is Kundalini, it moves energies by upwards force, towards confrontation, assimilation, convening, and transcendence.
